The national anthem of Greece, based on the "Hymn to the Freedom", written by Dionysios Solomos, a distinguished poet from Zakynthos Island, was inspired by the Greek Revolution of 1821 against the Ottoman Empire. It has 158 verses. To this day, no one in Greece has memorized all 158 verses.
